Highlights:
- Thurston ended a successful ’01-’02 campaign by reaching the
State Tournament quarterfinals. They went undefeated in league play and won
the Midwestern League Championship.
- They will be led by senior Jay Mayernik and his front-court companion,
Ryan Keeling. Mayernik averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds per game while
Keeling averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds per game last year as a sophomore.
- Head coach Doug Piquette is 60-42 in 4 years at Thurston.
