  • This will be Coach Mark Shoff’s 14th season as the varsity basketball coach at Lake Oswego High School. The Lakers have gone to the state playoffs 12 straight years and played for the state championship in 2005, 2006 and 2007. They won the 2006 state championship. Duirng the 2006 and 2007 season they were nationally ranked by Sporting News, Max Preps, Sports Illustrated, and USA Today. Coach Shoff’s career record is 232-112. Salim Stoudamire (Arizona, Atlanta Hawk) and Kevin Love (UCLA, Minnesota Timber Wolves) played for Coach Shoff at Lake Oswego.

  • The Lakers return 6 out of the top 8 players from last year’s 21-5 team. They will be led by 6’7” senior Max Jacobsen who committed to play for Coach Ken Bone at Portland State next year. Max led the Lakers in scoring last season averaging 17.0 pg and comes back this season quicker, stronger, and more fit than ever. Other returning players are senior 6’2” guard Scott Leedy, senior 6’0” guard Catlin Blyth, junior 6’8.5” post Billy Reader, and junior 6’1” point guard Marcus Anthony. Senior 6’0” guard Brad Smith, senior 6’5” post Mike Brady, junior 6’2” guard Kasey Closs, and sophomore 6’4” guard Max Livingston all saw varsity last season. Newcomer sophomore 6’2” guard Tyson Coleman who is coming off an excellent football season as the Lakers starting tailback will give the basketball program another very solid player.

  • The Lakers will use a ball control offense and use the skill of their post players to try and dominate the point. .
